Learning Curve for FAAC at Cambridge University

The centre for mathematical sciences at Cambridge University had a curved metal bar
gate installed on the main pedestrian access leading from the centre to the carpark.
Originally the plan was to make it an automated swing gate system. The specification
was changed in order for the entrance to be more accessible, in order to comply with
the Disability Discrimination Act.

A 844 sliding gate operator was installed in a galvanised pillar to one side of the
entrance, allowing easy access for maintenance and a tidy appearance. The 844 is
designed to move even the heaviest gates in commercial or industrial applications, the
844 is suitable for gates with a maximum weight of 1800kg. The 844 can be fitted
either internally or remotely allowing for more efficient installation
