The Background
A prestigious sports ground in Bishops Stortford needed an effective solution to control vehicle access to its grounds and deter unwanted visitors outside of operating hours. Any solution provided would be required to ensure safe, smooth operation during the day, whilst maintaining robust perimeter security at night. Faced with this challenge, site management approached London-based FAAC installer PRO.GENT to provide a solution. The PRO.GENT team did not hesitate to specify a dual access control solution consisting of two versatile and robust FAAC J275 automatic bollards, combined with an LED traffic light system to manage access at the facilities entrance.
The Challenge
Due to the high-water table on-site, PRO.GENT’s team of skilled engineers had to excavate two additional drainage pits on either side of the road at the facilities entrance. Each of these were fitted with dirty water submersible pumps and activated by float switches to ensure dry pits. Once this careful work was complete and all relevant standards had been met, PRO.GENT’s talented team of engineers could complete the bollard installation with ease.
The Solution
By synchronising FAAC’s intelligent J275 bollards with the LED traffic light system, the PRO.GENT team introduced a smart, fully automated timing solution that transforms how vehicle access is managed onsite. During operational hours, the smart timer automatically lowers the bollards to allow authorised vehicles to enter freely. After hours, the system raises the bollards smoothly and securely, preventing unauthorised entry and discouraging anti-social behaviour.
